The problem with the Internet is that there is way too much Information out there.

Why is that a Problem?

Well mainly because, you have to know what information you are looking for and it’s also very disorganized and can be really hard to find.

Plus there is that, huge, possible distraction of finding that “something else” that’s interesting and there’s a few hours down the drain.

“Well I am a little stuck”

So when you meet or catch up with someone on Skype, Facebook, Twitter or Sokule…. etc and you ask them what they are doing and how they are going, you may, more often than not, get the answer, “Well I’m a little stuck” or “I’m not sure what I am doing”…

So you have two choices.

  1. Sit down with them ( face to face or in Virtual Internet Land ) and explain what you can to them OR
  2. Offer them a resource they can find the answers and Still Stay in touch with you so you can  help them and others out with what you know at the same time!

Point 1.

Now I do a lot of “one on one” and while I don’t mind doing that, it does take time away from doing those “other things” I need to do.  I’m also more of a techie head and can bore you to death about that till the cows come home. While I know about marketing, I’m probably not the best teacher when it comes to that side of things.

Point 2.

Well I’ve had a few things to offer in regards to that, and while they are great, they may not be suitable as a starting place for someone starting out.

I’m always on the lookout for Quality Training Programs.

Now it would be very silly of me to make any claims of having found the Ultimate Training Program that you can have someone join and they’ll run off and start doing great things.

This is pretty close to that!

The Criteria

Criteria 1.

Advice via Ebooks and Videos on their own have some merit. But if there is No Way to ask questions and get answers to any issues that may arise… like “Yeah but FTP – I saw you doing that but it isn’t working for me…. What do I do”… You are Sunk!

  • Have access to as many Training Videos, guides, ebooks as possible AND be able to ask questions and get answers quickly!

Criteria 2.

Websites are essential when you are operating on the internet and this is probably the biggest sticking point that brings people to a screaming halt.

  • Clearly show, step by step,  how to create a website using Free Tools like Kompozer and also have the ability to quickly install a WordPress Website.

Criteria 3.

Websites need Hosting and that’s another sticking point.

  • Have a Simple Hosting Account creation facility included, which just requires you entering in the domain name and clicking the  “Create Account” button.
  • Simple One Click access to your websites Cpanel.

Criteria 4.

A Website needs to have a Domain Name and that has to be registered with a domain name registrar.

  • Show step by step how to register a Domain Name and where to get the best deals.

Criteria 5.

Now Building a website in itself can be pretty useless. You really need to have a purpose and know how to monetize it and have it setup to drag in the traffic.

  • Show, step by step how to Research an Idea, Find Keywords, Find related affiliate products, Create Content and Create the actual Website From Scratch to produce a profitable website.

Criteria 6.

There are many different Marketing Models you can implement so knowing what they are and the Wheres and Whys to use them, is very important.

  • Clearly explain all the various Marketing Methods along with the Pros and Cons of each. Also discuss the possibilities of combining various aspects of each.

Criteria 7.

All this Making Money Online is really no different to running a Business. It is a Job where you are the Boss and this is something the majority, never quite get!

  • Make it abundantly clear what the Big Picture is and how you should be thinking about what you are trying to achieve. This is probably the most important, misunderstood aspects of Making Money.

Criteria 8.

There is no question, Social Marketing, in regards to allowing people to easily communicate with each other, is paramount to producing a thriving community where people can easily network and share Ideas and services.

  • Have a system which allows people to easily interact with each other.

Criteria 9.

Forums are a great way to allow the sharing of Ideas and have ongoing Discussions

  • Have a Forum thats active.

Criteria 10.

With so many tools and resources, the actual website has to be intuitive and easy to navigate. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to Find Things.

  • Make the Website intuitive to use and easy to navigate.

I think I’ll stop there at 10.

On their own, these are just tools.

Having a swag of tools is just like having a well decked out Cruise Ship, with all the toys. You can have lots of fun on it, but without a Captain that knows what he’s doing, that ship aint going to go anywhere exciting!

Plus you need a superb crew specialized in looking after the guests on that Cruise ship.

Criteria 11.

Have an experienced Captain at the Helm and an exceptional crew.

In the Training Modules the same applies. You are taken step by step and what you have done and where you are up to is recorded so you can continue on where you left off.

So a new member isn’t going to be scratching their head wondering what to do.

And remember, you can always ask. The Forum is very active and the owner ( Curtis Andrew ) is always around to answer any questions.

Now I could start out by saying – It’s only $1 for the 1st 7 Days then it’s only $27 USD per month from then on….. but that probably won’t grab your attention, although it should. Yes’ it’s cheap to try out and Yes it’s quite affordable as a Training system, but is it a good one?

Well I went ahead and spent my $1 to see what it is all about. I’m always looking for good training programs and having been a part of some and helped build one, I have to say this really did impress me and I’m still smiling.

Why?

Well the first thing that made me smile was, I was just about to click on the pay button and spend my $1 fearing I was going to be presented with a One Time Offer where you “Pay X more dollars and get this and get that….” What happened was a page came up explaining what an OTO ( One Time Offer ) is and how it can be used to help monetize your website and the explanation was impressive. As it’s a training membership they decided to have it as a lesson and Not a way to get more dollars out of you.

Then you get to the next page which talks about how they are going to do live classes on setting up a profitable website from scratch. “Oh no here comes an OTO” so I thought. But these guys are clever! Instead they throw about a few prices on how much it could cost you and state quite clearly that it’s for Free and included in the membership.

Now the fun begins

Most times when you land in one of these “Training Programs” members pages you sit back dazzled by everything that’s available. But fear not! There is a step by step guide to help get you started. One thing that stops people dead in their tracks is being swamped by “stuff” and not knowing what to do first.

One of the main benefits of this system is that it is very Community based. And you are guided on how to become involved in it. The Videos included in these steps are very clear although the 2nd one is rather long , over 42 minutes BUT it explains everything and is a must “View” if you are serious in using this system to it’s fullest.

You get shown how to put up your image on your profile so that others can find out about You. A Section for success stories. If you need help with a website, or want to call out to the other members to JV or whatever it is, you can do so via the Jobs Board. So if you have skills, you can advertise them. It’s all about helping each other out and getting paid.

If you are stuck on website building, which is a skill you might not have time to master, they have a Website Builder. And you are taught how to use that. Setting up a WordPress site is also taught.

OutSourcing can be scary

I’m actually very wary of outsourcing as I’ve had to “fix up” others sites / scripts freinds of mine have had done by outsourced services. Well you and I now have access to the same Website designing team as these guys use so at least you can have some confidence they’ll be good. It’s a nice option to have if you ever need it. I’m not sure of the pricing although from experience I know that you get what you pay for.

Webhosting Included!

Now I had to watch this part of the Video twice just to make sure I got this bit right. You enter in the domain you’ve just registered, click a button and Boom you are hosted. It’s all explained in the hosting section. Then you can login into that websites Cpanel and do all of the magic stuff. And this is part of the membership? It’s too cheap but it’s part of the membership. See I’m still reeling from just finding out about that. I have to check this out more….

Calendar and Todo Section

This is getting crazy! There is a section you can list your Tasks you need to do. Always a handy feature and again I’ve seen this service only available on systems costing a whole lot more…

I’ve not even got into the learning center yet.

Next Stop – Learn the Fundamentals

There is a section – as part of the initial steps – to go over and learn the Fundamentals. Something which we all love to skip But if you are serious at making an income online it is essential you learn the basics.

Then there is a whole bunch of  “Tutorials” and they are all available so you can look at it all. If you are new I’d recommend starting at the beginning. In fact it wouldn’t hurt to do that no matter what level you are at now. Repetition never hurt and you never know what little snippets you don’t know.

There is a Forum

Yep, every good website like this has a Forum. I personally hold Forums in high regard. In fact without Forums I’d not know what I know today. One bad thing about Forums is a lot of people have what I call – “Forum Fear”. Either because they are uncertain on how to use it and are afraid of “Stuffing up” or just don’t feel comfortable in asking a question in fear of others reacting in a “not nice” way. Or never getting an answer…

Don’t be scared of a Forum that is part of a a membership system like this. One of the things you can be assured of is that the other members are in the same boat. Those who do know the answers will give them and if anyone does act in a not so nice manner will be quickly dealt with.

No Question is a Dumb Question

Something I’ll say till the end of my days, and probably after that as well. As I teach “techy stuff” , it’s one thing I’m often reminding my students of… Never be scared to ask. There is nothing worse being stuck on something that someone else knows the answer to. Which is why I do what I do with my teaching as seeing others struggle on stuff I know drives me nuts and I’ll always try to get an answer to them. Which I can in IIA, in the forum!

Internet marketing is no different. A Dumb Question is a question not asked!

This is an Extremely well thought out Program.

What hasn’t it got? I come up with website ideas and can write PHP and design databases till I’m blue in the face, so I can really appreciate what’s been put together in InternetIncomeAcademy. If you don’t even do mildy well with the systems and the lessons provided only means you never spent anytime in going through the steps ( checklist ) and gone over the fundamentals.

I’ve just completed my profile and I’m about to make some entries in the blog you get as part of this system, so I’m off to get stuck into this.

$1 for 7 days….. I hope that now you’ll be prepared to drop your Dollar and check this out. Make sure you go through the Steps and complete each one… Which you can do in , oh about an hour I’d say… Not forgetting the 42 minute “this is an explanation of the world of IIA” Video. Yes I watched it all.

As you may have noticed I’ve already posted about this great program and as it’s very much on the move and improve I thought I’d start up some update posts.

Myself and a few others are having a chat in the TL2I Skype Room – which is one of the many ways we can keep in touch and inspire and help each other out with the system, marketing in general and whatever else arises… It’s actually quite active.  Along with the weekly Online conferences we all get to know each other pretty quickly which is a great way to learn and network.

Skype Chat rooms can be very Grand!

I had considered Skype Chats as something of a toy early on but get a few people in a room all with the same aim in life, to develop and grow an online business.

I had really experienced the full benefits of Skype while I was involved in my small part in developing TL2I. If there was an issue, we’d jump on a Skype Group Call and get the issue cleared up and march onto the next thing. It worked really well.

So whats new in TrafficLeads2Income?

The Weekly conference calls are still going and the attendance each week is slowly on the increase as people find out it’s a great place to learn some new tricks or hear one of the guest speakers. There have been a few great ones of late. I’m not going to elaborate on those, you’ll just have to join and find out about them yourself. Some have been recorded so they’ll be accessible in the members area. Yes, even if you join for Free.

All 10 Steps are now available to Free members. In the recent past, the 10th Step was only available for paid members. So now, you can join for Free and use the whole system including the LCP system which is so great for anyone starting out to the seasoned Pro. They are geared to be used on Traffic Exchanges, ie A Quick View by someone surfing the TE , Grab their attention and get their name and email address.

Oh and now the GVO EResponder system has been incorporated into the LCP ( Lead Capture Page ) creation. Select your Autoresponder, fill in the info, upload your image if you wish, even add Video using EasyVideoProducer and save it and Bingo, instant Lead Capture Page.

Now there is Step 11.

One of the things you can do with Step 11 is to choose your LCP Template from a selection. Which is a nice feature so you can stand out from the rest. Also the commissions on promoting TL2i Increase from 20% as a Free member to 50% as a paid member, so there is definitely an advantage and the Paid Members Fee is priced just right! In fact, the number of people who upgrade from the Free Membership is quite high. Why? It’s value for money.

Follow the system and Win.

Like with anything, these kinds of programs only work IF you follow the system. And it is a good system. Each Step is clearly laid out. If in doubt there is live help in the Skype Room, or in the conference room or in the Forum or you can “Ask Admin”, a nice feature to get in touch with Rob himself and get any problems sorted out.

The emphasis is – To Work with your Downline.

When you get someone join you in any program, it is very very important to A) Get in touch with them and welcome them and thank them for joining with you and B) walk them through the system and C) Work with them to build their business using it…

Think you can’t get the parts B) and C) under your belt… Fear Not! The TL2I community will help any member, but it is preferred if you do make an attempt at assisting where you can. And remember, you’ll get shown the ropes and whatever else in the way of useful information that might come up…

Why Would You Want to Join Traffic Leads 2 Income?

A very good question! Number One reason would be that you’ve already joined a zillion programs in the past and never got anywhere… I will say this for the folk at TL2I, you won’t get left out, you won’t be allowed to fail but they can’t make you do it. But you’ll be prompted in a friendly way like “Hey Tim- What Step are you upto…?” , “What are you stuck on”, “What do you mean you aint got time…… it just takes a few minutes to do this step…”

Well it’s certainly been an exciting Easter Break!

I had all the intentions of getting a huge chunk of my new website up and running but that sort of came unstuck.

The site is coded up to the point of accepting registrations and being able to edit/update your profile.

It is all working wonderfully well on my development box…

[Oh, I like to write my own projects for a bit of fun just in case you haven't caught on yet.]

But then…

I decided I’d throw it up on my webhosting and see how it flies and to show some folk my upcoming masterpiece.

So I did just that, I created my hosting account – changed the DNS settings and it instantly popped up on the webpage.  So things were looking grand.

But then…

I got that very sad error message that I didn’t have execute script permissions on my database!!!!

Just to enlighten you if you are sitting thinking….”What does executing things have to do with this…”.

Well all my database “stuff” is written as Stored Procedures, which means – the functions that talk to the database are actually a part of the database itself.  Not to worry if that’s confusing… It’s something I will be showing you later if you are interested…

Apart from it being a very useful programming feature,  it does give you some added security. In short, it’s how it should be done.

So getting back to my dismay when I saw that hosting company had it disabled!!!!!!!!!!! What The!!!!! I promptly contacted support and they said “Yes, you can’t”. Most helpful.

After asking Why, I promptly joined up with another hosting company. And it all worked like a treat!

But then…

After I had successfully registered, I decided I had better update my profile. That’s what the instructions suggested I do. But this was the part where some new technique was being used. And… well a bit of it didn’t work!

By the way, remember that the script works flawlessy on my system.

Going back a week in time!

I’m using a PHP Framework called Codeigniter which I quite like even if it does have a few shortcomings.  Hey nothing is perfect but it is good to know what those imperfections are and how to fix/cope with them…

I knew it wasn’t going to do what I wanted it to with returning multiple data sets from the stored procedure. Which in another language means – I ask the Database two questions and should get back two answers.

In it’s current state, CodeIgniter only liked to deal with one answer at a time.

So I modified it to work. How I did that was to go right back to basics and so I wrote an installation script to create a new table and stored procedures based upon what I was using. Then I created a number of sample php scripts so I had a known starting point. It all worked nicely…

From that I created the changes needed in CodeIgniter to make it all happy and it was. It uses the same function calls deep down in it’s database class…

Back to now.

So having encountered this “Database deafness” on the second question, I loaded my original test scripts up on the same hosting account using the same Database etc.

Guess What???

Everything Worked!

Head scratching time.

I contacted the new webhosting company explaining my dilemma and they asked to see some code to replicate the problem. Of course they would! So I created a new page up on the site explaining everything…

So why am I smiling?

I still don’t have it working, but I did end up creating a wonderful script that works like a little framework of it’s own allowing you to create your code snippets with an accompanying HMTL file with some blurb and it creates the webpage display the “instructions: then it shows the actual PHP Code cause it reads in the actual file and then it executes and displays the results.

Now that has major applications for so many things. It’s a great tool to use to demonstrate some of the finer points of PHP and how you can make it work for you. Actually some of it came from another script we are working on in our PHP Class. That was good timing!

So what started out as some rough knockup code only I could love and appreciate, turned into something anyone can read it and follow along all built with a nice modular system.

So I’ve now got a lovely way to demonstrate my code, allowing the world to see it. There is link at the bottom regarding the Forum I’ve posted on about this so the conversation can continue there.

I’m still stuck though.

Everything works except for the CodeIgniter script on the webhosting account, where it has to work!

It’ll be a simple problem but I have gone to all the trouble to “write it out” and see what falls out.  It’s just this time I would appreciate some other eyes to view the problem and see what they can see that I cannot! It does happen sometimes!

So while I got stopped dead in my tracks on what I wanted to do, I’ve actually created something nice and useful.

[Update]

It’s fixed – The problem was I had made some changes to the members database table which were being installed with a separate SQL file through phpmyadmin. And guess what – I hadn’t run it in this particular installation.

Long story short – when the Stored procedure was attempting to read back the results from the members table it encountered an error due to the table missing some fields. But the error is “silent”.

The affect is it never returns anything… which is exactly what was happening. So there you go…. It was simple and writing it out finally led to the solution. Also a good rest helped as well.

I’m sure that’s a statement that you’d have to agree on!

I was approached by a Mr Rob Gehring ( formerly of 10KHits4U.com – a traffic exchange ) to become part of the development team and assist in his new program with my various skills. Of course I accepted as I’ve known Rob for a wee while now and his concept for his new site was rather interesting and unique.

Now Rob loves to get in front of people and mentor them. When I met Rob those many years ago, that’s exactly what he was doing then and that’s what impressed me. Even if you don’t have an Autoresponder, as one is included. But of course many of the other popular ones like Aweber, GetResponse, TrafficWave, EasySponder are supported in this system.

What you can do is, join up for free, go through the steps and get yourself a Lead Capture Page created in minutes. But that’s only a small part of the system.

You get to join the Forum, and of course attend the Live Conference calls being held on a regular basis where Rob gives away some pretty neat stuff plus you’ll get mentored to death! In a nice way of course.

There is also a downline builder included which has a large number of participating Traffic Exchanges and other programs participating. But you don’t have to join them all and those you don’t , you can deselect so that your Downline members only get to join those programs that You Choose. Most other systems that do this end up getting signups for your sponsor on those programs you don’t join. So that’s a pretty good feature to have.

All the affiliate material is provided so you won’t be left out to dry in ways to promote this.

The idea is simple. Create your Lead Capture page, promote it how it ever you like, but remember that Traffic Exchanges are a very good source of leads.

Rob will tell you about all the “other ways” just to put him on the spot.

The Steps that are included are there to guide anyone through the whole setup. So you won’t be left scratching your head plus you can ask for help in the Forum and also in the conference calls. There is a support room, that at the moment, isn’t open 24/7 but that’s something that’s being worked on, so you’ll always be able to get live support.

If you upgrade and it’s not expensive to do so, you’ll get higher commissions than Free members and also a few extra benefits thrown in.

So if you want to learn from someone that ” Walks the walk” then Rob’s your man. Plus you get the system to get your list building up and running and you may “unfortunately” encounter me at some stage. I try to attend as many meetings as I can and when I get time I’ll be in the support room lending a hand!

It’s all about getting your list built, getting others into some of your programs and mentoring them with the services provided.

The conference software is HotConference which runs in your browser so it’s not dependent on your operating system. Most conferencing programs only run on Windows so this is a great system.

No this isn’t going to be some ranting about everything I’m doing and everything that makes me what I am….

A New Social Network Adventure

Nope, MyLot is a new discovery of mine – prompted by my good friend Lou Roggio. It’s rather interesting, in fact it could very addictive and for a lot of Good Reasons.

I think Community is a more appropriate term for MyLot

You can open Discussions, you can start up your own little blogs, you can ask for help on getting articles done etc (you have to pay of course). But it’s number one feature as I see it is it’s ability to expose you to a whole new world. I say a Whole New World as you are going to read and participate in a very broad range of topics.

It’s much much better than FaceBook and MySpace.

It’s a very well laid out, easy to use system and in my opinion it’s going to outshine the likes of Facebook and MySpace.

It’s quite “busy” as there are a lot of things you do – useful things. Umm there is NO Farmville and all thoes games that have polluted facebook. I do hope MyLot does not go down the same path.

So join and open up a discussion on your Niche!

It’s as simple as joining up and starting a discussion on your Niche. What better way to start building interest in your Business.

Make sure it’s a fair discussion.

Those that haunt MyLot are either going to love you if you play fair or if you choose the path of being pushy with your business you’ll be promptly dispatched. There’s no other way to say it.

It’s just a fun place.

I’ve been in there for about 10 minutes and I’ve learnt alot, about stuff I’d never get to read anywhere else. It’s very interesting just to see what people are finding popular topics. Could be an idea for a Niche waiting for you in there. I know I’m scouring.

Michael Cheney Talks Traffic – Interview With A Traffic Expert

Michael Cheney, one of the most-respected names in Internet marketing, has been online since 1995 and is the man behind the 6-Figure launches of AdSense Videos and 11 Days To List Profits. He has unveiled a new videos product – “Michael’s Traffic Videos” which covers everything to do with traffic and comes with 100,000 instant ad credits and a tailored Fast-Track To Traffic Action Plan.

We managed to grab some time with him recently and quiz him on his favorite topic – traffic.

Q. Firstly Michael, thank you for joining us today in your busy schedule.

A. Hey no problem. Good to be here.

Q. We all know that traffic is important but could you just explain a bit about traffic for the beginners out there?

A. Sure. Traffic is the lifeblood of any business online. Without it you just die. We all know that. But what a lot of us don’t realize is that just like everything else on the Internet traffic changes very quickly. That is, the methods of getting traffic are changing all the time and that’s where people get caught out.

Q. What do you mean by “caught out”?

A. Well people fall into the trap of thinking that just because they know one or two traffic generation methods that they are some sort of traffic master. In reality just because you know how to start a pay per click campaign or a little bit about search engines doesn’t make you anywhere near a traffic expert. I’m trying to spread the word that there is a massive array of traffic tactics that most people aren’t even aware of, let alone using or mastering.

Q. Can you give us some examples?

A. Sure. Offline for example. You might immediately think that getting traffic is a purely online activity but the truth of the matter is that there are lots of things you can be doing offline to get people into your website. And it’s usually these sorts of areas that are being under-utilized and therefore there is less competition for that traffic as well.

Q. So by offline you mean advertising offline?

A. Not necessarily. That is one method, yes, but I’m thinking of more creative ways to get people into your website. It all comes down to the fact that having asked people on my list it came as no surprise that most people want to know about free rather than paid traffic sources. I’ve had to become an expert in free ways of getting traffic in my time online.

Q. What do you mean – I thought you were running a successful online business with lots of cash flow?

A. I am. But it’s not always been this way. When I first started out in 1995 I had nothing. No money to play with. Just my own initiative and imagination.

Q. So are you saying you’re against paying for traffic online?

A. No. No I’m not saying that at all. What I’m saying is that, especially when you first start out, you always want to focus on the free methods. You get the traffic in for free, make some sales and then you can reinvest some of that money into paid methods of getting traffic. This speeds up the process.

Q. So what particular offline methods are you referring to – can you give us some examples?

A. There’s one tactic I used that costs nothing to implement, is relatively quick and ended up getting me thousands and thousands of targeted visitors into my websites. When I’ve shared this tactic with other marketers at seminars they’ve started laughing and slapping their foreheads when they saw how easy it was. They were also embarrassed that they had failed to use this tactic. It was quite amusing.

Q. So are you going to tell us what this method is?

A. No! (laughs) It’s in my course! I truly believe in rewarding those people that are most eager to learn so instead of giving away all my traffic tactics in interviews like this I’ve put some of them in an E-Book I’ve written. It is free though if people want to get it.

Q. So how can people get hold of it?

Q. What’s in it?

A. Well I really wanted to raise the bar on a free E-Book so I spent a lot of time creating it. It’s 40 pages long and stuffed with juicy content on what NOT to do when it comes to traffic. As far as I’m concerned too many people out there tell you what you should do but not what you shouldn’t do. That’s where this E-Book comes in.

This is a major topic for anyone with a website.
How to get Traffic?

Well Michael Cheney has come up with a massive 49 Video package that explains all the methods he’s used to generate Traffic to his websites.

Now Michael has been doing this for some time so he knows his stuff and his ability to explain “in his own special way” how you can do the same, is something to see.

I’ve learned quite a bit from Mr Cheney and I suggest that you will too if you get Michael to show you how you can generate that much needed traffic to your website(s).
